Beverly Perry

Beverly Perry is an accomplished attorney and advisor with extensive municipal, executive, and legislative experience as well as lobbying experience at the federal, state, and local levels. She is a strategic advisor to major utilities, project developers, and stakeholders in municipal governments, helping clients navigate the changing landscape affecting American cities with shifting economic climates, diminishing budgets, aging infrastructure, and increasing costs for utility services.

Prior to joining Taft, Beverly served as Senior Advisor to Mayor Bowser in D.C. for 10 years, where she oversaw policy initiatives through the Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs, the Office of Federal and Regional Affairs, and the Office of the Secretary. Beverly is recognized for her strategic leadership in both the public and private sectors in D.C. She played a lead role in securing federal land for the RFK Stadium redevelopment, helping spearhead the creation of a mixed-use district and an innovative, new 65,000-seat stadium that will return the NFL’s Washington Commanders to their historic home in 2030.

Beverly previously held executive leadership roles at Pepco Holdings, Inc., one of the Mid-Atlantic’s largest energy companies, now owned by Exelon, acting as Senior Vice President and Special Advisor to the Chairman. She began her legal career litigating cases in federal and state courts and serving with the Department of the Interior.

Throughout her career, Beverly has been a leader and steward of various foundations and organizations, including the Smithsonian American Arts Museum; the African American Civil War Memorial and Museum; the Greater Washington Urban League; the Arena Stage; the Congressional Black Caucus Institute; and the Federal Judicial Nomination Commission for the District of Columbia.
