Social Media Intern @ IPPH
Overall Job Description:
The social media intern at IPPH will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence, enhancing our virtual dialogue with IPPH audiences, and helping IPPH to broaden the base and demographics of IPPH event audiences.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Content creation, analytics reporting and creative campaign development
- Monitor and engage on social media platforms – to include but not limited to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
- Post IPPH events on all available and appropriate social media platforms, such as, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
- Build social media following (e.g. by re-tweeting, engaging with and following appropriate people, topics and organizations on Twitter
- Communicate exciting news (i.e. IPPH Speaker Series panels, Resident Fellow events, etc.)
- Update website, as needed
- Stay abreast of the latest Social Media apps that may be well-suited for IPPH to engage with regularly Qualifications:
- Familiar with Social media Management platforms, such as, Hootsuite, Agora Pulse
- Familiar with YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram (as well as the ever-evolving Social Media space)
- Passionate about Social Media
- Avid follower and well-read on politics (both national and local), policy (primarily national) and history (both national and local)
- Strong writing skills and ability to write to communicate effectively on Social Media
- Must be detail oriented, team player and technologically savvy
- Fast Learner and self-directed
- Experience with Social Media analytics Benefits:
- This is an unpaid part-time internship
- Estimated weekly hours are 5-8 hours per week, unless you have more time than that! (schedule is flexible, but most days will require a minimum of ½ hour, to keep the communication constant) (minimum 7-month commitment, but longer if you’d like)
- Intern will work both remotely (on his/her own computer)—and report to IPPH office 1/week (minimum)
- Opportunity to fill a permanent paid position as the Social Media Coordinator
